In the first season, shippers bid on two shipments listed on uShip. This is done in the form of a reverse auction. Bids are typically made with statements about the likely costs and potential risks in addition to the motives and abilities. The job is typically awarded to the bidder with the lowest bid when the auction is over. At the discretion of the buyer it could be assigned to a bidder who has received a better feedback rating from previous clients. To break any ties feedback ratings are utilized. In the season 9 finale, the shippers are given their loads by the shipping broker, but the bidding process isn't shown.Winners load their cargo and try to deliver it intact by the client's or receiver's deadline. Once the loads have been delivered, feedback scores are displayed from clients. The program concludes with the revenue of each shipper and expenses. The bid amount is subtracted to determine the total profit and loss. Sometimes, shippers will offer to transport additional loads in the same journey. The extra money is then added to their total. In some instances the shipper may be in a position to not complete the task due to concerns over the weight of the load or the road safety. Sometimes, one or more shippers might enlist the assistance of another to help complete the job. The two shippers decide on how to divide the proceeds. Seasons 1-8 are full of funny criticisms by the other shippers.
